The Tourists
I planned on reblogging an entry on one of my top cities in Europe, Venice, a few weeks ago but postponed it. Now I believe is the perfect time since I have just watched The Tourist starring the beautiful Angelina Jolie and the one and only Johnny Depp. Seeing France and Italy in the movie made me have some pretty wild flashbacks from two years ago.

Our Venice adventure was definitely one for the books. First, we missed our bus going to the airport. We arrived at the bus station just a few minutes exactly after the bus left. The next bus would make us miss our flight so we can in no way take it. Our only choice was to take a cab to the airport 1 hour and 30 minutes from Paris. Since we were out of options, we took it and paid the most painful 150 EUROS fare of our lives. That's almost P10,000 for a cab. We got there just in time for our flight, but guess what lovers? FLIGHT WAS 3 HOURS DELAYED! We even had to take a bus 2 hours from the airport to the Lille airport and fly from there. We arrived in Venice at 3 in the morning with no idea where to go to find our hostel. Good thing there were a few Filipinos there to help but didn't really help a lot because they pointed us to the wrong direction. Next thing was a night guard who helped us find our hostel after an hour and a half! We walked with our luggage all around Venice at 3 in the freaking morning so freaking cold with a night guard that has no idea where to go. If that is not an adventure, I do not know what is.

Cheers to my travel partners in crime Maxine and Charlene for surviving our wild lost nights in Venice!
