Rome was not built in a day
Back tracking one year ago, I was in the eternal city of Rome. When my friend Char and I were planning this trip, we were choosing between Rome or Greece. I have always been fascinated by Greek mythology ever since high school but if I go there, I'm more interested in exploring Santorini and the beaches instead of its tourist spots. It was December at that time, so obviously that wouldn't be a wise time to go. So Roma it is!

Also, it is interesting to take note that this was right after Marcos and I officially said goodbye in the Dijon gare (train station) which explains my tired eyes from too much tears falling voluntarily and involuntarily. He was off to Spain while I was off to Italy. We had our last hugs and kisses and he watched from outside as the train was leaving.. and I thought that only happened in movies. I just felt so helpless inside that train not knowing when we'll be seeing each other again. Until we reached Rome, I was so detached from the world just listening to my iPod (songs like Please Don't Stop the Rain et al). I was in my emo stage. Thank God it's over.

When Char and I reached Rome, she treated me to a 5 euro tarot card reading to cheer me up a little bit (hoping it was a GOOD read!). The tarot reader spoke little English but her reading was freakingly accurate that I got some chills listening to them. Her future reads were all good that I don't want to have my fortune read ever again for it might change (superstitious me).

Stylish grandmomma on a vespa | I love street shots like these.

I act like a magnet when I see graffiti on walls.

I rarely am this colorful. Coat by Pimkie, Pants from Zara, Bag from Promod, Scarf from H&M.

Let me end with a quotation by Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius as a start for a beautiful 2011.
“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together. Do so with all your heart.”
Happy new year everyone! Here's to more love, laughter and happiness in the coming year!
